“The place of motivation is the place of activation and the place of inspiration is the place of aspiration. It's compulsory! You will always be activated when you are motivated; and aspire when you are inspired”

2017: YOUR YEAR OF UNIQUE EXEMPTION (FROM “EVERY HEAT” OF YEAR 2017) – Psalm 1:1-3!
WELCOME!
Feature Article
It is no longer news to say that we live in a very challenging world. Even the Bible, God's WORD, confirms it. Whether we admit it or not, we get beaten at one time or the other by the storms of life - the regrets of yesterday's failures and the pains that come with them, the fear of the unknown bearing with it the challenge of the future.

3 SIGNIFICANT WAYS OF MANAGING PEOPLE

The need to manage people well on a daily basis has become so important that we can't but talk about it. This is because the world is made up of different kinds of people. People are different, not only in colour and general appearance but also in behaviour and general lifestyle. This is as a result of so many factors, among which is diversity in family background and upbringing.

By definition, managing people is all about treating people the way they want to be treated. Whether you and I like it not, we can't avoid interacting with people. So, the questions to ask are as follows: How do I manage people? How should I manage people? Is there a standard for managing people and relationships? Outlined below are 3 simple but highly significant and effective ways of managing people and relationships on a daily basis:

1. Be friendly at all times in your approach to people: Learn to share a smile when you are with or around people, even if this is not your normal way of life. This also goes to say that you should avoid judging people before you really get to know them, even when you are tempted to do so. This counsel applies especially in situations where you’re meeting people for the first time.

2. Treat people with courtesy and respect every time and everywhere: Of course, this includes those times when you don't really think such people deserve the honor. Endeavour to use words or terms that show them respect e.g. sir, ma, sorry, thank you, please, kindly, etc. These simple but respectful words go a long way to ignite a sense of acceptance with people. This is because everyone, including you (I’m sure), desire to be treated with respect. In addition, learn to make little sacrifices here and there for others. Show people, especially first timers, that you care. This is very significant to managing people and building relationships.

3. Learn to listen more to people rather than trying to dominate the discussion: Believe me, you will earn people's respect by learning to listen more to people than talking. This does not make you a fool in any way. In actual fact, it makes you wise. Our world is experiencing a big challenge today because there are more talkers in the world than listeners. Be determined to change the trend!

In my opinion, the ability to manage people well is an art that can be mastered by anyone over time. The key is simple: the more you meet and interact with people, the better you get at managing people. I believe as you apply the points outlined above, you will begin to see improvements in your art of managing people. You are lifted! Stay friendly!
