8 BIBLICAL PIECES OF ADVICE ON THE SUBJECT OF LIFE MEDITATION (PART 2)

In the first part of this article, I mentioned 4 out of the 8 biblical pieces of advice on the subject of life meditation and these focus on meditation on whatsoever is (i) true (ii) honest (iii) just (iv) pure. Here, in the second and concluding part of the article, I’m going to outline the other 4 biblical pieces of advice on the subject of life meditation, according to Philippians 4:8.
Like I mentioned in the first pat of this article, meditation is the emptying of the mind of thoughts, or the concentration of the mind on one thing in order to aid mental or spiritual development, contemplation, or relaxation.
If you keep saying you can’t trust, you will always have someone in your life that will hurt and betray you. If you keep saying you can’t find a job, you will remain unemployed. If you keep saying you can’t find someone to love or believe in you, your thoughts will attract more experiences to confirm your beliefs. If you keep talking about a divorce or breakup in a relationship, then you might end up with it.
Below are the other 4 (to make up the 8) biblical pieces of advice on the subject of life meditation, from Philippians 4:8. This scripture encourages us to “think on…
1. Whatsoever is lovely: Endeavour always to pay attention to news and information that is only lovely to you and this needs no definition. Whatever you know is lovely and pleasing to your thoughts and imaginations are what you should go for. Be responsible for the type of information you meditate on.
2. Whatsoever is of good report: Make a strong decision never to concentrate your attention on negative or bad reports, no matter how tempting doing this might be. Choose only to settle with or settle for good and positive reports in life. Even if you get a bad report from any angle concerning things that concern you, choose not to settle with it in meditation. Guard your thoughts jealously!
3. Whatsoever is of virtue: Anything positive is of great virtue. Any positive thought, therefore, carries positive virtue that is highly beneficial to our existence in life. Be determined to fill your mind and thoughts with positive, virtuous thoughts. Refuse the temptation to be negative or to think negative at any time. You will truly find this helpful as you do!
4. Whatsoever is praiseworthy: You are encouraged finally from Philippians 4:8 to think or meditate on whatsoever is praiseworthy. This means that you should always reflect on things that are commendable, both to God and man. Above all, you should develop an attitude of praise and thanksgiving to God, in all situations and at all times, rather than complaining. Doing this will help to re-align your thinking pattern for greater fulfilment in life.
So, get out of your own way! Don’t settle for less in your mind and thoughts! Meditating on negative things is settling for less! The moment you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than you settled for. So, what has been the subject of your life meditation before reading this article?
