A life of motivation is often a product of conscious effort. You don't become motivated by mere wishes. You have to take responsibility to go after motivation on a daily basis.
Professionally, a motivator is called a motivational speaker. Motivators too have "secrets” that help them stay motivated. Sometimes, they look to you like super-humans - people who never have problems, going by the way they motivate people.
As a motivational speaker, I motivate people from the wealth of motivation that flows from inside of me. As a result, I don’t struggle to motivate people. I don’t fake my motivational talks. I simply motivate people from the motivational power that runs within me. The same thing goes for the motivational articles and books I write. I don’t struggle to achieve them. So, how do I get motivated? Well, in this article, I'll be sharing with you 3 great secrets of motivators which are ultimately my secrets. My desire is that you get motivated by these secrets:
1. Motivators have a mentor and/or role models: As a motivational speaker, in order to get motivated enough to be successful at what I do, I have found it extremely necessary to get a hero, or simply put - a mentor. For me, however, my biological father, Engineer (Pa.) Christopher A. Ajayi (Rtd), an octogenarian, is my mentor. From him, I have acquired a wealth of wisdom about life in general. He often says: "It takes an experienced man to teach a man to be a man." In addition, I have role models - people I adore and respect so much in this industry and others who serve as pastors over my life. Getting a mentor or role model keeps you inspired to stay on track while you work towards your goals.
2. They live a lifestyle of motivation: Don't be fooled! Motivators go after motivation too. They read wide, listen to tapes and CDs and watch extensively, motivational DVDs and programmes on TV. This is perhaps their greatest secret. I do all of these too, as a motivator.
3. They live a lifestyle of discipline: A lifestyle of discipline is one that is characteristic of the life of motivators. They exhibit great discipline in many areas of their life ranging from spiritual life, financial life, time management, eating habit, exercise, rest etc. This helps them to accomplish greater success with their life and profession as motivators. I have principles that guide my life too in virtually every aspect of the above-mentioned.
Having outlined these 3 great secrets of motivators above, you can key into them and improve your lifestyle. Who knows, you could be on your way to becoming a motivator too - and a great one at that! So, stay always motivated!
